Women Entrepreneurs: Magazine for Women in Business

Women Business Owners Trusted Source

A friend of mine told me that a friend of hers received a grant she had applied for, $1,000,000. I told her, that is wonderful! And, that I was referred to a few grant writers, but I would prefer to use the one that gets the results, so I asked her, How much did the grant writer charge? She told me $700.00 I said great, that would be perfect, because I would love to use her services, and asked for the number. The woman used every excuse under the sun to keep from giving me the number. LOL. Certainly, the grant writer gets paid to write grants, wouldn't she want the referral? Why do people do that? I am interested in hearing your views. I think its important that we share information, and referrals. Too many people won't refer your business because they want to hide information to keep someone else from getting ahead, or, are they trying to figure out how to profit from the information, or block your success, what is it, I don't get it?

Have you ever had an experience like this, Or, are you the culprit?? :)

I think the woman who didn't want to share the information has not yet been enlightened to the beauty of networking. By connecting you with the grant writer she may have gotten something fabulous out of it and now she won't because she is unwilling to share success. I think people that do this just don't understand the nuances of networking and helping each other to succeed. I read a book (a few books) that said; There is Abundance in the world. God made it that way. Helping someone else does not leave you in want of anything in fact it does the exact opposite becasue like attracts like. Maybe next time you come across someone like this you could explain to them the fact that there is Abundance and there is plenty of wealth, health and happiness for all residents of the planet. Or have them read "Ask and it is Given" A great book!
